Was watching 20/20 loast night after taking a break from Xbox 360ing and came across a story which makes you wonder what God was thinking when he made us. It was about a girl who at the moment is 7 and who has a very rare genetic disorder called FOP. Essentially what happens is her muscle and tendons will eventually turn into bone, which will pretty much encase her in a ‘shell’. Absolutely terrible thing to happen to anyone.
Now before anyone shoots me down for not showing an intuitive grasp of Catholic doctrine, I’m sitting at work with no Cathechism easily accessible. So God created everything in the world, and I’m supposing that everything was created good and for a purpose, and that where evil springs up it’s where we as humans have tended to twist what was good into evil. But where does the good come in in cases like this?
Now it so happens that this girl and her mother were Catholic, (at least I’m guessing they were as the girl was shown going to a Catholic scool and participating in prayers) so I guess this may be a big test from God to get the family back on track, or maybe their plight will touch someone in the community to do something great. Who knows? God works in mysterious ways and sometimes not all of them are pleasant.
